Claudia Hußmann – Hundeschule „Mein lieber Hund“
My name is Claudia Hußmann. Back in 1997, when I was looking for a dog school for my puppy, I was appalled over the gruff treatment of the dogs there. I thought that there had to be other ways, and so I started my sometimes difficult search for these other ways.
When I read on the internet about „clicker training“, I was fascinated and wanted to know more. Since then I have been working intensely on the subject of positive reinforcement; I attend seminars and keep learning continuously. Apart from my main job, I opened up my own dog school to show other dog owners, that they can do without yanking their dogs, and without violence and psychological threats. Since 1999 I have been a member of the BHV (Berufsverband der Hundeerzieher und Verhaltensberater e.V.), and I am IHK|BHV certified dog trainer and behavioral consultant as well as examiner for the dog handler license (“Hundeführerschein”) and assistance/accompanying dogs.
Meanwhile, the dog school and my little boarding kennel are my main occupation as well as my passion. It is my specialty to help the regular dog owner to get a family-friendly dog. Showing people how to turn their puppy into the dog of their dreams – in a friendly and non-violent way – is my most important task. Especially for this I have a blog with many tips http://www.welpenerziehung24.de.
Also I help with all kinds of problematic doc behavior like aggression on the leash or hunting problems. I also work in an animal shelter und work on resocializing hopeless candidates for the animal shelter, to increase their chances of getting adopted.
